THANKSGIVING FEAST IS COMING! 11/19/2008

THANKSGIVING FEAST IS COMING FOR SUMMIT& THE YOUTH ACTIVITY CENTER!

WEDNESDAY 11/19/2008  ~ SUMMIT FEAST 11AM-1PM
Thanksgiving Feast is an annual family celebration on our campus that allows you to eat lunch with your child(ren) alongside all of our Summit family. It is sponsored by The Dr.s Mike (they supply all the turkeys, gravy and music and help the PTA (who handles the rental of all the equipment, chairs, warmers, additional food, miscellaneous supplies necessary to pull off the day). We depend on each of our families (bringing a dish is most necessary to the success of the day). The children get very excited about sharing it all with you. This year thanks to the Winkel Family we do not have to rent any tables.
We have served, in our best year, 500 lunches to you, your children, and everyone close in your child’s circle (your spouse/partner, your parents, and your child’s caregiver). We do this from 11am-1pm. You get to eat with your children for that time and then you get to watch them play a little and then they go back to class. If you can attend the children delight in having the opportunity to eat their families. Family traditional recipes, store bought, whatever you can contribute to the day. However, if you cannot be there, please take a moment to let your teacher know so they can make arrangements to eat with your child.
We depend on our Summit Community participation for a prepared dish and volunteering the day of the event. (Lists of food and volunteer spots needed have been emailed - please check your inboxes for full details).

YOUTH ACTIVITY CENTER ~ FEAST 11AM-1PM

Thanks to the efforts of Kelle Enriquez, we are once again able to allow our children to extend their love to those less fortunate children in our community.

Every year we are fortunate to share an amazing Thanksgiving Feast with all of our families here at Summit.  Thanks to the generosity of our families, we always have a lot of food left over.

This year, in the spirit of giving thanks and giving back, we will be sharing our Thanksgiving Feast with the children from the Youth Activity Center. We have invited the children to come to Summit after school to enjoy the delicious food brought in by our families.  After the YAC children have had their fill, we will take the rest of the food to Boca Helping Hands.  We will be looking for our children to volunteer to help up prepare the buffet and play host to the Youth Activity Center children after school on the day of our Thanksgiving Feast.

We will need additional volunteers from 3-5:30pm to help set up and serve and assist our students in making this a fun event for the children of Youth Activities Center.
