Sea Camp 2008 Rules & Responsibilities
Upper Elementary – Sea Camp Trip 2008
Rules and Responsibilities
For the safety, comfort, and respect of everyone, all students are responsible for the following rules:
* This is a school trip, and all rules, responsibilities, and expectations of Summit Private School apply at all times.
* When an adult (teacher, chaperone, instructor, bus driver, etc.) is addressing the group, give them your attention and respect. Follow all instructions given to you. Please wait until he / she is finished speaking to ask questions.
* Be respectful of others (the rest of our group, other groups, the instructors, etc.). This means that we are not to disturb or distract anyone in any way, and to use good manners and show courtesy at all times. Remember to thank everyone who helps you.
* Students will be assigned to a small ‘chaperone group.’ At various times, we will break into these groups. During these times, students and chaperones share responsibility for knowing where each other are.
* All students in a room are equally responsible for all of the property in the room and appropriate behavior. If other students in your room choose to damage property, disturb others, or otherwise do the wrong thing, contact an adult immediately. Those who contact an adult are not held accountable for the actions of others, while those that do not contact an adult are considered equally responsible – even if they did not actively participate. Basically: If someone else does the wrong thing, you must do the right thing (tell an adult), or you are just as responsible for it happening.
* All students (and all chaperones) are equally responsible for making sure that our bus, dorm rooms, classrooms, (and everywhere else) are clean and neat before we leave an area.
* Electronic toys (Gameboys, iPods, etc.) may be used on the bus. All games and music must be appropriate for all ages. Students who bring electronics assume full responsibility for those items. There is a DVD player on the bus. Only movies that are rated G or PG (not PG-13) will be shown. All electronics will be collected and stored by teachers while we are at Sea Camp.
* There are designated times during the day that students may call home (typically around meal time). Students may bring a pre-paid phone card OR a cell phone to use during these times. Students will NOT have access to phones at other times. Please do not call your child. Parents will be given Jennifer’s cell phone number, (which she will have with her at ALL times) and the direct phone number to Sea Camp. In an emergency, parents may call either of these numbers.
* All students are responsible for carrying and maintaining their own personal possessions (and money) throughout the entire trip.
A violation of these rules may result in parents being called, and / or parents being asked to pick up their child. Although we do not expect this to be necessary, we do ask for parent cooperation if the situation warrants it. Thank you so much. Your signature below means that you understand all rules.
