Happy New Year and welcome back! I hope everyone found some time for rest and relaxation over the break. After a very busy December, it was nice to get back to our regular routine.
While most of us were away our classroom pet crab Molly has been growing and is ready for a new shell. Finally the children will be able to see the different parts of the hermit crab and learn to identify each part. We also have added some new pink and blue lessons to our language area, the children a have been really enjoying those lessons.
Last month we studied Holidays around the World and Biospheres .Now we will be looking at the 7 Continents focusing on Artic biomes —how and where the animals live and adaptations for survival. Some other subjects we will b introducing are: weather, sound fork, central nervous system (the brain), the eye and Martin Luther King as our peace keeper.
I plan to introduce the Kindergartener’s to “work contracts”.They will be given written daily/weekly assignments, which they will need to complete. This is preparation for first grade and typically the children are excited about it.
January to remember:
Jan 24th parent ED Night (Parent are invited to come to class with their child to see them work ) more details to come(Check Friday Folder)
In February we will be having a Valentines Day Pajama Party! It will be on Friday Feb 15th! The children are really excited about it and we would love to have the whole class participate so please sign up!
Thank you all for your continued support and partnership in your child’s education we greatly appreciate it.
Warmly,
Ms. Crystal
