HELLO FROM THE GARDENS!!
HELLO FROM THE GARDENS
HAVE YOU LOOKED AROUND THE CAMPUS LATELY? Thanks to the efforts of the children, the grounds are looking better than ever! We are beautifying the school and planting everywhere.
The children are learning about plants, tools, insects and the language of the garden. Vegetables, herbs and flowers are being planted and tended by your kids. We are sampling basil, dill, sage, lettuce and mint - and patiently (sometimes not so patiently) waiting to pick banana peppers, cherry tomatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, cucumbers, carrots and radishes. We are giving our flowers lots of love and care – some are doing better than others – and are weeding, pruning, watering, digging, raking and always learning about things that grow. The pond in the toddler garden is full of apple snails and tadpoles that are growing and changing rapidly. All of our classes have been observing these changes and enjoying learning about pond life. Upcoming projects includes making flower beds around some of the trees in the parking area and making candy out of the mint we grow!
We would like to thank the many families that are volunteering their time to water, help out with a class, donate plants and tools to help us make our garden so very beautiful. Come spend a class with us or water your child’s class garden. We always love your company!
